While the quieter colonial sister-city to Cabo San Lucas is well known for its historic buildings and romantic patio restaurants, San José del Cabo is also a thriving artistic center at the tip of Baja. Sophisticated galleries offer everything from paintings by local artists and quality Talavera ceramics, to sculpture and traditional crafts. There’s no better way to browse the beautiful offerings than to head to the Art Walk from 5PM to 9PM every Thursday from November to May. Centered around the town square and nestled in the picturesque side streets, galleries remain open into the evening during the Art Walk. A festive atmosphere takes over the town as restaurants offer snacks and beverages, music drifts through the warm evening air and visitors and locals mingle as they make their way from gallery to gallery on Alvaro Obregon Street. A relaxed alternative to the bustle of Cabo San Lucas, this is a wonderful way to sample a different taste of Los Cabos.
